An alleged sex scandal involving Hassan Member of Parliament (MP) Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, broke out in Karnataka amid the country’s election season. Scandals during election seasons can be quite disruptive.

Hundreds of pornographic movies that were reportedly taken by the MP and extensively shared around the Hassan constituency are at the center of the controversy. The Hassan Lok Sabha seat, where the 33-year-old Prajwal was running, had elections on April 26.

Days before the election, the Hassan LS constituency saw a widespread distribution of pen drives carrying sexual videos, but the police did nothing in response to victim complaints.
“I am aware that a conspiracy is taking place. I’m not the type of person to bolt in fear. Something four or five years old is what they have released. The decision to ban Prajwal Revanna from the party rests with the party hierarchy. Their State Government is in charge of it. Allow them to look into it. Prajwal was, nonetheless, heading overseas. He was unaware that a formal complaint would be brought against him. Over the past forty years, we have been the subject of multiple investigations by Congress. Whether it is SIT or CoD. On this, I haven’t talked to Deve Gowda. The father of Prajwal Revanna and leader of the JD(S), HD Revanna, stated that legal action would be pursued.
