STATE : The 2nd Annual General Meeting of Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society (MMCWS) , Tripura’s First Cancer Welfare Society was held on 7th April at Agartala Press Club. The event witnessed a significant turnout of members, reflecting the society’s commitment to its cause.


Former President Shibani Bhattacharya commenced the proceedings by proposing the dissolution of the former Executive Committee and the formation of a new Executive Committee. The proposal was unanimously supported by the members present, paving the way for the new leadership under the Presidency of Sreya Debnath.


The transition was marked by unity and enthusiasm among the members, showcasing their dedication to the society’s mission. A welcome song performed by Sangita Bhattacharya and Manjari Bhattacharya set a positive tone for the meeting. During the program, Secretary Subhadip Bhattacharya delivered a comprehensive overview of the NGO’s performance over the past year. He emphasized the society’s efforts to maintain its capital structure while initiating multiple initiatives and events aimed at enhancing cancer awareness in Tripura. Shri Mihir Bhattacharjee & Smt. Manjari Bhattacharjee, parent of Lt. Madhurupa Bhattacharjee felicitated as Founding Father & Founding Mother. Few selected members awarded with appreciation memento for their amazing performances and contribution towards the organisation in last one year.

With Tripura witnessing a rise in the number of cancer patients, the society remains committed to its mission of spreading awareness and providing support to those affected by cancer. The new Executive Committee Members mentioned below is poised to lead MMCWS into a new era of impactful service for the welfare of the society.
