STATE : Jyotsna Aktar from Tripura has been conferred with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 in the Social Service category.

Jyotsna received the award from the hand of President Droupadi Murmu on Monday in New Delhi.

16-year-old girl Jyotsna Aktar hails from Belonia, Tripura. She was conferred the award for fighting against early marriages in her village.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha from his official X account lauded her bravery at such a young age.

CM Manik Saha wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to Miss Jyotsna Akhtar for being conferred with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in the Social Service category. With your initiative, you lit light amongst many lives. Kudos to your bravery & commitment at such a young age. Tripura is proud of you”.

Meanwhile, The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to the 19 children at a function held in New Delhi on Monday.

One child each in the categories of Bravery, Science & Technology, and Innovation; four children in the category of Social Service; five children in the category of Sports and seven children in the category of Art and Culture received the award.
