STATE : Tripura’s Agarwood Oil has been exported to the UAE. Agar oil, valued at Rs 25 lakhs, has been exported to the United Arab Emirates for the first time.

A Government release said that Agarwood oil was exported by North Tripura’s Maman Enterprise to M/S Fragrance Force General Trading LLC, UAE.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has approved the export of Agar Oil from Tripura by giving NOC and customs clearance.

Notably, the state has a large number of agar trees, and about 15,000 families rely on agar production for their livelihood. The Tripura government has already developed an agarwood policy to encourage the agar trade.

On the other hand, due to the State Government’s persistent efforts, the Indian government has announced the export of 1500 kg of agarwood oil and 25000 kg of agarwood chips. Initiatives are now in the process of exporting the state’s oil and agarwood chips to other countries. This initiative will encourage agarwood producers and traders in the state.
