STATE : Tripura is progressing significantly on the path of development. Despite various adversities, Tripura is currently doing commendable work in different fields. Dr. V.K Saraswat said this in the meeting with the high-ranking officials of the state government and the delegation of NITI Aayog and the Secretariat.

A seven-member delegation led by Dr. V.K Saraswat arrived in the state Tuesday. The delegation held a high-level meeting with Chief Secretary J.K Sinha at the Secretariat along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and officers of the state administration.

In the meeting, the member of NITI Ayog, Dr. VK Saraswat, said that NITI Aayog will provide full cooperation in quickly resolving the difficulties faced by the state in implementing developmental programs. In addition to the development of potential areas of the state, special importance should be given to the overall development of the state.

He also emphasized public-private partnerships to encourage investors to invest in the state. He advised the officials of the state administration to take necessary initiatives for this.

This delegation of NITI Aayog has arrived in the state on a three-day visit. The delegation’s main objective for the visit to the state is to strengthen joint initiatives between the center and the states for integrated and sustainable development.

Apart from Dr. V.K Saraswat, Niti Aayog’s Senior Advisor Rajeev Kumar Sen, Deputy Secretary Hemant Kumar Meena, Senior Associate Krishan Kant Sharma, Program Director of Atal Innovation Mission Himanshu Joshi, State Support Mission Specialist Dr. Amrit Pal Kar, Senior Specialist of Industry Vertical Rupesh Singh were present during the meeting.

In the meeting with the delegation of NITI Aayog, the issues of expansion of trade with and through Bangladesh, industrial development, processing of bamboo, rubber, agar, pineapple, information and technological facilities, and development of health services were prioritized.

Moreover, in the meeting, the Secretary of the Department of Planning and Coordination sought the cooperation of NITI Aayog to withdraw port-based restrictions on the export of finished rubber from Tripura to Bangladesh.

The meeting also prioritized the opening of an auction center for the development of the tea industry in the state. In addition, emphasis was placed on setting up a central smokehouse to improve the quality of rubber in Tripura.
