Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha witnessed as the Chief Guest at the passing out parade of the 14th and 15th Battalions of Tripura State Rifles at KTDS Police Training Academy in Narsingarh on Friday.
In his speech, Chief Minister Manik Saha referred to the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) as the state’s pride. The state’s TSR force is in no way less effective than any other police department in the nation. As a result, this force has a reputation throughout the country. In particular, TSR has proven to be skilled at thwarting terrorist actions within the state, which is worthy of recognition.
In the last two years, TSR and the Police Force have played an important role in countering the terrorists. Due to their activities, 24 terrorists and their accomplices have already surrendered, CM Saha said.
Chief Minister also said that a total of 1413 jawans were included in the 14th and 15th Battalions in TSR. As a result, 137 female jawans have been appointed for the first time in TSR by the State Government’s policy to reserve 10% of positions for women.
From the 14th and 15th TSR battalions, 331 jawans have passed out from this training academy out of 1413 Jawans today. Those who trained from other training centers will pass out soon. TSR recruits are thoroughly trained as per the syllabus prescribed for the IR Battalion by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Today’s passed-out women TSR jawans will later be given special training on operations, law enforcement, and crime against women, CM Saha further added.
