NATIONAL : The North-East Students Organisation Jalandhar conducted the 8th General Elections on October 16, 2023, at Hops Lawgate, Punjab.

Himan Debbarma from Tripura was elected as the President and Gebi Jebisow was elected as the Vice-president of the NESOJ Jalandhar.

In a statement, NESOJ says, “It was heartening to see representatives from all eight North-eastern states coming together to participate in the electoral process. The diligent supervision by the Nomination Committee, led by Nganaomi Zingkhai as Chairman and including Thaiba Reinai and Abhinav Tenzing, ensured a fair and impartial election.”

The newly elected office-bearers bring a diverse set of talents and experiences to NESOJ, promising to uphold the organization’s values of “Integrity, Prosperity, and Excellence.” The commitment demonstrated during the oath-taking ceremony, led by Pastor Tiaakum Ozukum, reaffirmed their dedication to serving NESOJ and its members, the statement says.

Himan Debbarma, the newly elected President of NESOJ, extended his sincere gratitude towards all the members of NESOJ and also expressed his keen desire to organize the two mega events of NESOJ, namely the North East Sports Meet & North East Fiesta in a more innovative and better way during his tenure.

The election results are a testament to the democratic spirit that thrives within our community. It is also a testimony to the hard work, cooperation, and support of the candidates, state executives, volunteers, and former executive members. Their dedication to NESOJ’s mission of representing and supporting North-Eastern students in Jalandhar is truly commendable, it concluded.
