STATE: On the eve of India’s 77th Independence Day, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Laser Show on Bangladesh freedom fighters at Albert Ekka War Memorial in Lichubagan on Monday afternoon. At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister paid tributes at the Martyrs Memorial at Albert Ekka War Memorial.
CM Dr. Manik Saha said while inaugurating the laser show that the Indian army and liberation fighters’ unwavering bravery was a major factor in Bangladesh’s eventual independence. Future generations ought to be aware of this bravery’s past. It will support the growth of the patriotic spirit.
Speaking with the Media representatives Chief Minister reflected and reminisced about the horrific days of the Liberation War. He said today is being observed as a day of remembrance of the partition of the country across the country.
As a result of the partition of the country in 1947, two separate Independent States were born. This Partition Atrocity Memorial Day is being observed to remember the sufferings and sacrifices of helpless people affected by the partition of the country in 1947.
The Chief Minister also stated that this division has not only divided the people of two places. There was also a division of culture and humanity.
The gruesome chapter of the partition of the country is a painful one. So no division in the society is desirable, CM added.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Chief Forest Conservator KS Shetty, IG CRPF Subrata Kumar Mishra, Brigadier Vikram Guleria, and AMC Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, and others were present on the occasion.
