STATE: On the occasion of the Independence Day celebration, August 15, traffic restrictions have been imposed in some areas of Agartala city from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM for smooth traffic movement.
Moreover, some areas have been declared as no-parking zones. The District Magistrate of West Tripura district informed this in a notification.
On August 15, all types of private vehicles/commercial vehicles/two-wheelers / e-rickshaws / rickshaws, and pushcarts will not be allowed to ply from Gorkhabasti to the south, Buddha Mandir to the north and Malanch Nivas to the circuit house.
However, this restriction will not apply to the vehicles of school children. Any patient who wants to go to GB Hospital during the mentioned time should go to GB Hospital via Abhoynagar Bazar-Kumari Tilla.
The notification further informed that both sides of the road from the main gate of Old Raj Bhavan to Buddha Mandir, both sides of Old No. 1 MLA Hostel- Cantonment Road from Buddha Mandir, the area from Buddha Mandir to Abhoynagar Post Office have been declared as the no-parking zone for the period said.
Air passengers are requested to use the Durga Chowmuhani-Barjala road (via Panchabati Kali Mandir) while traveling to the airport.
