Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha informed that Agartala is soon going to have “Unity Mall” along with other states of the country.

On that premise, the Chief Minister went to the Jute Mill Ground, which is a potential location for the “Unity Mall” and is situated outside the main City on Monday morning.

Later, from the proposed site CM Saha informed reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a desire of building a Unity Mall in each state of the country, similar to the Light House project.

CM Saha said in the recent state budget, money has been allocated for this purpose. The construction of Unity Mall has been planned for the four acres of Jute Mill land since it is viable to build a communication facility and other facilities there.

According to the Chief Minister, the major goal of building Unity Mall is to display and sell distinctive products made in each district of the state as well as well-known products made in other states across the nation. Through this, a fraternal relationship of our state will be established with other states of the country.

While neighboring country Bangladesh has also shown a desire to exhibit its goods at the envisaged Unity Mall. In this Mall, some stalls will be kept for Bangladesh. Chief Minister told reporters that the construction work will be commenced soon.

Earlier, CM Manik Saha tweeted regarding this and wrote, “The project will be implemented with an outlay of around Rs. 100 crore & we have already announced the project in the State Budget 2023-24.”
