North-East is astonishingly flourishing, not just in the Indian film Industry but on par internationally. At one of the world-famous film festivals, the Cannes Film Festival, two individuals from the northeastern state of Nagaland will be represented.
As per media reports, Andrea and Kivini will be a part of the delegation supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting through the Department of Information & Public Relations, Nagaland.
A prominent Film Maker from Nagaland, Kivini Shohe, will be at Cannes as a delegation from Nagaland. She is also the founding president of the Film Association of Nagaland (FAN).
Kivini has been a jury chairperson for the 14th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, 2022. She was also a jury for the 5th South Asian Film Festival, Kolkata, 2022.
Kivini is well known for her award-winning film ‘Oh My Soul’, released in 2014, which is a story of three Naga transgenders. She also received the Governor’s Award in the same year.
On the other side, Andrea Kevichusa, who debuted her acting career in 2022 with the ‘Anek,’ alongside Ayushman Khurana and written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, will be seen as a delegation of Nagaland with Shohe. Andrea also bagged her first Filmfare Award for ‘Best Debut Female’ in 2023.
The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16 to 27 in France.
