Due to the current situation in Manipur, Tripura Government has decided to bring back stranded students of Tripura who are studying at various colleges in Manipur. A total of 208 students are to be brought back to Tripura.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha spoke with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia about the arrangement of special commercial aircraft.
In that context, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced the decision to operate an additional commercial flight from Imphal to Agartala.
Three flights of Indigo have been arranged by the State Government. The first flight of Indigo Airlines will reach MBB Airport, Agartala at mid-night from Imphal with 171 students studying in RIMS, while another flight will take the 37 students of Central Agriculture University to Guwahati from Imphal at midnight on Saturday and return to the state on Sunday noon.
On the other hand, a special team has been sent to Manipur today by the state government to bring and coordinate the students studying in Manipur.
Two review meetings were held yesterday in this regard under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Senior officials including Chief Secretary JK Sinha and State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan were present. Later, the Chief Minister discussed with the parents of the students studying in Manipur. A decision was taken last night to bring the students to the state by special plane.
