
New Delhi, August 21 — In a proud moment for India, Ludhiana student Rayansh Gupta clinched a gold and a silver medal at the 18th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025) held in Jining, China.
The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) hailed the achievement, announcing that the Indian contingent secured seven medals and one special award in the global competition, which saw participation from 31 countries, including the USA, Germany, and Australia.
According to the official MoES statement, Rayansh not only bagged a gold and silver but also received the GYM Reporter Award. Other members of the Indian team also excelled — Bains Charuvrat won two silvers and a bronze, Apam Nidhi Pandey secured a silver, and Pryanshi Ghanghas earned a bronze medal.
The Ministry praised the performance, noting that India’s young scientists had once again proven their talent on an international stage.
