Arunachal: IMC & ASEZ Partner to Empower Youth for a Greener Itanagar

Itanagar: In a landmark initiative to promote community-led environmental restoration, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z). The collaboration seeks to tackle pressing ecological challenges through youth-led volunteerism and sustainable action.

The signing ceremony, attended by Mayor Tamme Phassang and ASEZ representatives, highlighted a shared commitment to combating pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change, and ecosystem degradation. The partnership is designed to mobilise university students for on-ground activities such as awareness campaigns, clean-up drives, and restoration projects across Itanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Phassang said, “Today, young minds brimming with zeal took a remarkable step. IMC officially joins hands with ASEZ to promote awareness of cleanliness across our city. This is a shining example of Jan Bhagidari, where youth lead from the front.”

Beyond immediate activities, the MoU also outlines long-term objectives, including collaborative environmental research, multi-stakeholder engagement, and integration with ASEZ’s global Earth Recovery Project. Both parties have committed to conducting regular volunteer initiatives, tracking measurable outcomes, and maintaining continuous dialogue to ensure impactful results.

This partnership marks a significant step toward building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable Itanagar, driven by the energy and commitment of its youth.
