Agartala, July 29, 2025: Dibyangana Nath, a Class IX student from PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Belonia, has brought pride to Tripura by winning the 2025 National Scholarship for Classical Music, awarded by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi.
A native of Padmapur in Dharmanagar, Dibyangana hails from a musically gifted family. Her father, Tarunmoy Nath, is a well-known tabla player, while her mother, Minakshi Nath, is a classical vocalist. Initiated into music at a young age under her mother’s guidance, Dibyangana later refined her talent under the mentorship of Padma Maulishwar Aditya, a distinguished figure in Tripura’s music scene. It was through his mentorship that she successfully qualified for this prestigious national recognition.
Dibyangana is an active participant in several cultural organizations, including Kalamandal in Dharmanagar, Shrutipuram, and Kala Bitan in Belonia. Her accomplishment has resonated widely, evoking a strong sense of pride not only in her local community but also throughout North and South Tripura.
Her family, including her supportive grandparents and cultural mentor Santosh Sutradhar, has been instrumental in nurturing her passion and dedication to classical music. Dibyangana’s achievement is being celebrated as an encouraging sign for the revival and promotion of classical art forms among Tripura’s younger generation.
