India now has the longest railway platform in the world at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station in Karnataka.

The record has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records recently, officials said.

Platform No. 8 of the Hubballi Railway Station, having a 1,507 m long platform falls under the South Western Railway Zones of Indian Railways and had been built at the cost of about 20 crores.

The second-longest platform is in Gorakhpur city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, measuring 1,366.33 metres. Meanwhile, the third-longest platform is at Kollam Junction in Kerala, measuring 1,180.5 metres.
