
According to the Dubai Media Office (DMO), a huge fire broke out in a 67-story building in Marina on Saturday. After the fire broke out late Friday night, all 3,820 inhabitants of the Marina Pinnacle’s 764 apartments were safely evacuated. According to the Khaleej Times newspaper, Dubai Civil Defence teams put out the fire after six hours of nonstop effort. According to the DMO, the authorities are prioritising the safety and well-being of the impacted inhabitants first. They are collaborating closely with the building’s developer to set up temporary housing for them. “All residents were successfully evacuated from the 67-story building by specialised teams, with their health and safety being the top priority throughout the operation,” the DMO stated in a post on X at 1.44 am on Saturday. The fire is still being contained in its entirety. “Ambulance teams and medical staff are on-site to offer full medical and mental support to the safely evacuated residents,” said the DMO at 2.09 a.m.Later, at 2.21 am, the DMO reported that all 3,820 residents of Marina Pinnacle’s 764 apartments were successfully evacuated by specialised units without suffering any injuries. Marina Pinnacle, commonly referred to as Tiger Tower, has previously caught fire. According to Khaleej Times, a cooking mishap in May 2015 started a fire on the 47th storey which extended to the 48th level before Dubai Civil Defence was able to put it out.
