Atashi Majumder receiving award from President Droupadi Murmu

In New Delhi’s Rashtrapati Bhawan, Atashi Majumder, a nurse from Tripura received the National Florence Nightingale Award.

The President of India Droupadi Murmu presented this awards to the Nursing Professionals on Monday for their exemplary work and selfless service.

Atashi Majumder has been working as a nurse in the Belonia Sub-divisional hospital for 32 years. Her service towards humanity gives her this National Florence Nightingale Award.

A total of 51 Nursing Professionals from all over India have been conferred with the award of which Nine Nurses are from the Northeastern region.

The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
